Fashion at 40

I started Vestir Studio after a year where I suddenly had a lot of events to attend — and almost every one came with a different dress code.

I had always been guilty of buying dresses for a specific occasion, wearing them once, maybe twice if I was lucky, and then leaving them in the wardrobe. It was expensive, and the older I get, the more conscious I’ve become of how wasteful that cycle can be as well.

Dress hire seemed like the obvious solution, but when I started looking properly, I found it surprisingly hard to find options that felt right for me.

I had just turned 40, I wasn’t always a consistent size, and I wanted something that felt current, flattering and structurally supportive without making me feel like I had to dress younger than I am — or much older than I am.

Because 40 is not old.

The more I searched, the more I realised there was probably a genuine gap for women who still love fashion and want something special, but also want better consideration around fit, support, coverage and how a dress actually works on the body.

That is where Vestir Studio started.
